But what about the famous argyle pattern? We have to inform you that it has its roots somewhere in the 17th century, in Scotland. It was inspired by the famous tartan worn only by the members of the Campbell Clan and later became very popular due to the socks worn by the well known highlanders. Only at the beginning of the 20th century the argyle pattern became popular in England and the United States, but since then it has almost never got out of fashion.


Nowadays the diamond shaped blocks sitting on top of a colored background are strongly fitted in to everyone's visual memory. But you have to know that this wonderful pattern is not only used for sweaters, but also for scarves, socks and even shirts.
